Covid-19 pandemic has perceivable influenced the execution of our project, eNEET-Rural, the impact of the pandemic has reached each partner with high intensity. At this phase of the project we planned to run the series of on-the-spot skill developing and agro professional trainings for the tragetted NEETs in Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and Spain.
At the Italian partner COM the situation of the pandemic is still very serious and we shall consider that we are still in a time of timid phase. In all partnering countries the public events are still not allowed and even during the summer period it is not expected that the situation will significantly change. Now all the territories and municipalities are thinking about the next phase: security measures, procedures, social distancing and restructuring spaces and procedures are about to introduce to control the situation.
To implement the on-the-spot training courses due in this phase of eNEET-Rural project, we are working to apply alternative temporary approaches such as:
- to transfer on-the-spot trainings to online, via webinars and similar video conferencing tools. Access to such webinars would be granted to eNEET-Rural NEETs, who completed 1 or more training courses on the online platform. This way they would get a preparatory training to the webinars, which would be more specific in the topic and would include external mentoring. The advantages of webinars for NEETs are numerous, ranging from the more engagement and support from the teacher comparing to e-learning platforms or the recorded lessons can be reviewed later and there is also an opportunity for interaction with other NEETs following the lessons. During the webinars the attendees are able to ask questions and get fast responses. However, this approach can be applied only to non-disadvantaged NEETs.
- to shift the on-the-spot trainings of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged NEETs (for example the disabled people involved) with a couple of months. These NEETs can be reached just offline, hence those courses cannot start before the late summer.
To realise the shift of the approaches we shall share the strategic territorial assets of meetings and events with local stakeholders. We also shall further intensify the media campaign of our eNEET- Rural on-line courses with the message that NEETs should exploit the lock-down period by educating themselves with our on-line courses. The “mentoring” process started “virtually” which our consortium will also resume in one-to-one meetings in the autumn.
We are convinced that these measurements will warranty that the project shall reach its targets without significant delay and at the same high quality.
