On the 13thof November 2019, the Valakupiai Rehabilitation Center team organised within LEAD project a new training session for employers and Human Resources specialists. The main topics were: the Supported Employment process, the particularities of integration of people with disabilities in work, as well as the legal framework and facilities offered to employers by the state.
Twenty persons attented this interactive and applicative event; they discussed with the Trainer, worked in teams, presented their opinion and exchanged own experiences.
Three weeks later, our colleagues from VRC organised a new meeting between young adults with disabilities looking for a job enrolled in LEAD project, and potential employers. The 12 participants talked about the barriers to youth employment, measures that would facilitate the integration of this social category in the labour market, both from the perspective of employers and young adults with disabilities.
The experience exchange meetings between employers and young adults with disabilities will continue within LEAD project in Romania, Lithuania and Portugal. Up to the end of the LEAD project, 24 training sessions will be organised by HAO, VRC and Consultis for 480 employers and human resources specialists.
