2022 European Year of Youth

This is about the European Year of Youth 2022, proposed by President von der Leyen. The year will include a series of events and activities for young people. The idea is to boost the efforts of the European Union, European Member States, regional and local authorities in recognising youth’s efforts during the pandemic and supporting and engaging with young people as we emerge from it.

The European Year of Youth will aim to

  • highlight how a change to a greener, more digital future and socially fair society can lead to greater opportunities for young people;
  • encourage all young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, to become active and engaged citizens as well as actors of change, inspired by a European sense of belonging;
  • promote the different opportunities available for young people across the EU and thus support their personal, social and professional development in a greener, more digital and more inclusive European Union.
