Emanoil story, worker with Broderie Bucureşti SRL

Emanoil is a 29-year-old man from Bucharest, diagnosed with paraparesis and impaired vocal cords, following a car accident suffered at the age of 8. After some surgical operations and recovery time, Emanoil continued his studies. The young man obtained qualifications in the occupations as follows: mechanic, security agent, data input, validation and processing operator, but he was not attracted to any of them. After graduation, for short time, he collaborated with a casting agency, and he worked as a data input and processing operator for another firm.

The young man contacted our colleagues from Services Centre for Supported Employment from Constanțafollowing some recruitment announcements posted by our team on an online platform. Emanoil wanted: to work part time in a large team, to make new friends, and to have an activity that would make him feel useful, “helpful to others.”

Olivia, labour market expert with HAO, went through the vocational profiling stage with Emanoil, via WhatsApp. During conversations with the young man, she discovered that he is empathetic, serious, and punctual, has a great ability to adapt, feels the need to be helpful to others and to communicate more with his peers. At the same time, our colleague found out that his health problems affect his fine motor skills and his ability to perform quickly received tasks.

Subsequently, our specialist recommended Emanoil to the representatives of Broderie Bucureşti SRL, an employer that already had experience in working with people with disabilities. In the second half of July 2021, Emanoil was hired as a worker in this factory, in a position that does not demand the quick execution of work tasks. From the very beginning, the young man understood the requirements of the new job, and he accomplished them well. Emanoil easily integrated into the company’s team. According to Olivia, significant intervention in his working relations was not necessary.

Our colleague noticed that after employment, the young man has gained more self-confidence. Emanoil is very happy, goes to work with pleasure and enjoys harmonious relationships with his colleagues. The employer is very pleased with the work done by the young man and his progress and with the collaboration with the HAO team. As a result, the representatives of Broderie Bucureşti SRL have expressed their desire to recruit other young adults enrolled in the LEAD project. In this respect, they have sent to our colleagues a list of open positions.
