Daniela, kitchen worker at Spartan (Bucharest)

Daniela lives in a village in Giurgiu County, about 40 km from Bucharest. The young woman graduated a post-secondary health school. Initially, she looked for a job in the field. She worked with a polyclinic, in the administrative department, for short time, because polyclinic went bankrupt. After that, Daniela looked for a job, regardless of the field.

In October last year, she contacted our team, via WhatsApp, following a recruitment announcement posted on an online platform. At that time, HAO looked for kitchen workers for a restaurant from Bucharest, part of Spartan – one of the largest fast-food restaurant chains in Romania.

Daniela was very delighted about the prospect of employment at this restaurant chain and she recommended two more friends, and her brothers. In these conditions, our colleague, Olivia Grigore, worked with all five young adults, via WhatsApp. She went through the vocational profiling stage with them. After that, she helped them make their CVs and prepared them for the interview.

A month later, Daniela alongside three out of the four young adults were employed at the same restaurant. The manager is very satisfied with the four young people because they work very well in a team and they adapted quickly to the demands of the workplace.

The project “Labour market Employment for young Adults with a Disability – LEAD” is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.
